Nick Cave; Faith, Hope and Pop Music

Monday 23 September 2024, 8 pm - 9:30 pm
SOLD OUT | Dutch conversation & music | Radboud Reflects and Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies

This programme is sold out.

Venue: Theaterzaal C, Radboud University (Elinor Ostrom building, Heyendaalseweg 141, Nijmegen)

What can Nick Cave's music teach us about life's big questions? From punk rocker to interpreter of love songs and psalms set to music; Nick Cave has done it all. During his career, Cave became increasingly spiritual and even became a questioner of life's questions. Come hear theologians Annemarieke van der Woude and Thomas Quartier talk about what Nick Cave's lyrics say about grief and hope, about faith and doubt, about music, freedom and love. Of course, there will also be live music by musicians from the Nick Cave Tribute band.

This programme is in Dutch.

What will you reflect on? Examining what is of value.

For more than a hundred years, philosophers, theologians and religious scholars at Radboud University have reflected on the world in all its aspects. They bring worlds into view that remained hidden, because they speak for themselves or were never suspected. In doing so, our researchers, lecturers and alumni offer reflections to a society they are part of.

You have a part to play.
