Hiring people with a distance to the labour market

Radboud University wants to be an inclusive work organisation where everyone feels at home and appreciated, also people with a distance to the labour market. Together we work on a solution to deploy people’s qualities to the best of their abilities in order to let them positively contribute to the goals of the university. We, as a social organisation, find an inclusive labour market very important. Do you want to make room within your team for someone distant from the labour market, but don't know how?

  • This leaflet (in Dutch) will give you a better understanding of the target group and how to support this group
  • There are several positions you can think of, check the job book (in Dutch).

Jobcoach

An employee hired through the Participation Act is entitled to job coaching for a maximum of three years. A job coach provides the employee, together with close colleagues, with extra support in his or her work. The aim is for the employee to learn to function independently within a department and grow into sustainable employment. The employee also has the option of using an external job coach. The UWV subsidises this facility.

On-the-job coaching

Every colleague with additional support needs is assigned to a buddy, a colleague who provides guidance during work. More than 60 colleagues followed the in-company Harrie helps Buddies training. This training gave them tools to properly guide new colleagues. Would you or your team also like to take part in this training? Let your HR adviser know.
