Buy a second-hand bike
You can buy a repaired second-hand bike that is in a good condition for a reasonable price. If you keep the bike in a good condition, you can sell it back to the shop at the end of your stay in Nijmegen for a reduced price. Note that you need to keep the receipt safe until the end of your stay, to be able to sell the bike back. The average price is between €100 and €250. Some second-hand bike shops in Nijmegen:

Rent a bike through Swapfiets
Swapfiets is a bike membership. For a fixed fee per month, you get a bike and they make sure it always works.
Rent an OV-fiets (short-term)
If none of the options above work for for you: it is also possible to rent an OV-fiets from NS for €4,45 per day. Please note that you need a personalised OV-chipcard (for which you also need to have a Dutch bank account) to rent an OV-fiets.
