Housing for international students
On this page you find information about finding housing as an international student.
Current housing crisis
With several educational institutions, Nijmegen is a very popular student city. Combined with the nation wide housing crisis, this results in significant challenges for both Dutch and international students seeking student accommodation.
Since Dutch universities do not have their own housing accommodations, Radboud University cannot facilitate housing for all incoming international students. We do however understand the challenge, therefore we try our best to provide as much support with finding housing as possible.
Support for international Exchange and Master's students
International exchange and Master’s students can request assistance in finding accommodation for the full duration of their study programme. This service is quite unique in the Netherlands.
How to apply
Check if you're eligible to receive help and apply before 1 April (non-EU/EEA students) or1 May (EU/EEA students). In your application, please indicate that you want to make use of our accommodation service. We will do our best to accommodate all international exchange and Master’s students but we cannot give any guarantees.

Support for international Bachelor's and pre-Master's students
International Bachelor's and pre-Master's students will have to find housing by themselves, but can apply in the Room Lottery of SSH& with travel priority.
Radboud University has an agreement with the Student Housing Association (the SSH&) that all Bachelor's and pre-Master’s students who have to travel for more than two hours to reach Nijmegen (total travel time with public transportation from your home address to Nijmegen Central Station), participate in the SSH& room lottery with travel priority.
In order to apply at SSH& as a upcoming first year student, your registration at Radboud University has to be complete. Therefore it is wise to start your registration early, ideally before 1 April (non-EU/EEA) and 1 May (EU/EEA). The priority lottery for students starting at Radboud University in September starts 1 June. If you win a room via this lottery, you can live there for the duration of your complete study programme.
