On 20 August you will be able to register at Radboud University between 10:00 and 17:00 at the Gymnasion.
Please bring your official ID with you!
The three main estate agents will be present, so you can pick up your keys:
As registration may take a while, we strongly advise you to be in Nijmegen before 14:00. After registration you can go to the desk of the real estate company.
After you have fulfilled the registration arrangements, there will be buses available at the Gymnasion to bring you to your room.
On Sunday 20 August students wearing red Radboud hoodies will be at the Schiphol Airport meeting point from 9:00 to 15:00 to give you directions to the right train to Nijmegen. You will have to travel to Nijmegen on your own accord. Check the NS Journey Planner to plan your trip to Nijmegen central station.
On Sunday 20 August between 10:00 and 16:00, RIS mentors wearing a red mentor shirt will be at Nijmegen central train station, just behind the gates at the piano, to guide you to free shuttle buses that will bring you to the Gymnasion. If you have arranged your room via Radboud University these buses will also bring you from the Gymnasion to your student housing or back to the city centre.
Please first visit Student Admissions at the back entrance of the Berchmanianum building on the Radboud University campus. From 21 August to 8 September, Student Admissions will welcome first-time international students from 10:00 to 16:00 for registration at the university and information where to pick up your keys.
Please bring your official ID with you when you go to Students Admissions and the estate agent.
After 8 September, Student Admissions is available by appointment only.
Please visit the student desk before 14:30, otherwise you might not have sufficient time to go to the office of the SSH& or estate agent. We will then provide you with directions, so you can collect your keys.
It is not possible to register and get your key outside of the office hours or in the weekend. We therefore advise you book a hotel/B&B for the night and register and get your key during regular office hours. Please have a look at this list with suggestions.
From Sunday 20 August to Sunday 27 August, we are organising a series of activities where you can get to know Radboud University, the city of Nijmegen and other students from all over the world!
After your arrival in the Netherlands you have to make an appointment with the municipality. You will receive a Citizen Service Number (Burgerservicenummer or BSN) after your registration.
At the beginning of the academic year, there are often attempts to scam (international) students by phone. For example, the fraudster presents themselves as someone from the government, the legal system or a bank. They already have some of your personal information and sound credible enough. They state that you have been fined, or they want to ‘help’ you to secure your money. This also happened to a Radboud student last year. And he is certainly not the only one.
You need to know that government agencies, banks, etc. will never approach you over the phone. Be alert and never transfer money, share personal information or download software to your devices if you don't know who you are dealing with!
When in doubt, hang up!
Call your bank immediately and report it to the police. You can always contact Student Admissions (admissions [at] ru.nl (admissions[at]ru[dot]nl) / +31 24 36 12345) if you have questions or concerns.
