After your arrival

After arriving in the Netherlands you have to make an appointment with the municipality to get registered (and receive your BSN). Depending on your nationality and the length of your stay you will have to do a tuberculosis test, give biometrics and/or pick up your residence permit at one of the IND desks.

Registration at the municipality

After your arrival in the Netherlands you have to make an appointment with the municipality. You will receive a Citizen Service Number (Burgerservicenummer or BSN) after your registration.

Tuberculosis test

Unless your nationality is exempted, you will have to undergo a tuberculosis test after your arrival in the Netherlands. You will be contacted by the GGD to arrange an appointment if this applies to you.

If you are exempted from a provisional residence permit (MVV), you will have to give biometrics at an IND desk in the Netherlands. You will be informed by Student Admissions on how to make an appointment for biometrics if this applies to you.
