Getting to know the campus

Soon you will have to find your way around campus to attend your courses, so make sure you know where to go beforehand. Campus buildings and locations are often abbreviated in your personal schedule. The list of abbreviations, as well as an overview of all the buildings and parking spaces can be found on the campus map.

Getting to know your fellow students

Of course, the best way to get to know your fellow students is by joining the Radboud Intro (for Bachelor's students) or the (pre)Master Welcome Day. But there are also plenty of other ways to get in touch with people, before and during your studies.

Radboud Intro for Bachelor's students

Radboud Intro is an orientation period for new Bachelor’s students at Radboud University. The orientation week will be held from Sunday 18 August to Sunday 25 August 2024.

About the Master's Welcome Day

New pre-Master’s and Master’s students are welcome to come and find out about Radboud University at the Master’s Welcome Day. Once you have enrolled in your pre-Master’s or Master’s programme you will receive an invitation.

Radboud Intro for international exchange and (pre-)Master's students

Radboud Intro for international (exchange) students is organised each August and January to provide an introduction to Nijmegen and Radboud University for new international exchange and (pre-)Master's students.

Arrange as soon as possible

At the start of the academic year, there are a number of things it is best to take care of as soon as possible. These include registering for courses in your first semester and, if applicable, arranging extra provisions for exams.

Digital environments and IT systems

At Radboud University, we use various digital environments, for example to view your personal schedule or to check your grades.

Brightspace

Brightspace is the digital learning environment of Radboud University. It contains course information, documents, and online lectures. You can also submit assignments.

View study progress in OSIRIS

The study information system OSIRIS allows you as a student to register for courses and exams and view your study progress.

Viewing your timetable

Your timetable shows you where and when your classes and examinations will be held.

VPN: off-campus access to systems

VPN provides secure internet access, especially when you are using a public internet connection. VPN also provides access to all of the university’s systems.

Using laptops, phones and tablets

To follow your study programme, you need to have the appropriate devices. Ensure that your laptop meets the minimum required specifications.

Purchasing software from the university

As a staff member or student you can purchase software programs through Surfspot for free or at a sharply reduced rate.

Information at the study programme level

Some information may differ per study programme, such as the study guide and the Education and Examination Regulations (EER), but also which study advisor you can contact and which study association you can join. Make sure to check the information for your programme--and sometimes also the right academic year.

Viewing your course guide

The course guide contains the courses and minors for your study programme.

Student advisor

Each programme has its own student advisor who provides information about the study programme and advises students on decisions during their studies.
