Faculty of Science Student Award 2024 goes to Hazal Doğan

Hazal Doğan has received this year's Student Award from the Faculty of Science. The Student Award is presented annually to students who have made exceptional contributions to the Faculty of Science.

Hazal received the award from student assessor Mark de Jong during the New Year's gathering of the Faculty of Science.

Hazal was chosen from three nominees, including Tristan van der Schaaf and Marie-Sophie Simon, who were also commended for their outstanding contributions.

About Hazal Doğan

Hazal has completed her Bachelor's in Biology and is currently pursuing a Master's in Microbiology. She is known for her various contributions to the faculty, including her active role as a board member at BeeVee, member of the Biosciences Programme Committee, and TA for courses within her programme. She is currently the Institute Assessor for Biosciences, following a year as a board member of the umbrella organisation Olympus, where she was also involved with Tartarus and the Supply Committee. In addition to her direct contribution to student life, she is also involved in discussions about the future of our faculty as a member of the Education Vision Committee.
