Follow-up pilot menstrual products on campus

Radboud University is continuing its pilot for offering menstrual products on campus. Students and staff who need it can use a free menstrual product in 60 toilet areas accessible to everyone. School Supply vending machines offer (sustainable) menstrual products for a small fee. The follow-up pilot runs until the end of December 2024.

Cabinets with menstrual products at 60 locations

Radboud University values the importance of everyone having access to menstrual products, regardless of their (financial) situation. Therefore, from now on, anyone on campus who cannot afford it can use free menstrual products.

voor iedereen toegankelijk toilet

You can find these products in the cabinets in the 60 universally accessible toilet rooms on campus. You can recognise these toilets by the blue signs with the text 'gender neutral'. In the building overview on the website, under 'accessible toilet', you will find the floors where these toilet rooms are located.

Vending machines with (sustainable) menstrual products

Tampons and sanitary pads are now also available to buy on campus. The School Supply vending machines offer tampons, panty liners and sanitary pads at a friendly price of €0.50 per pack, in addition to products such as stationery and earplugs. From now on, all School Supply vending machines will also offer more sustainable menstrual products from the brand Yoni, including menstruation cups.

You can find School Supply's vending machines here:

  • Elinor Ostrom Building: on the first floor (left next to the door of walkway to the Erasmus Building)
  • Huygens Building: in the Library of Science.
  • Maria Montessori Building: on the ground floor, left past the reception desk.
  • University Library: on the first floor, near the Coffee Corner.

Two new vending machines have been placed in Berchmanianum and Grotius building.

Follow-up to previous pilot

The first pilot with free menstrual products in 2022 was initiated by the University Student Council and carried out in cooperation with Campus & Facilities. Following the evaluation, the Executive Board decided to follow up the pilot. This time with more locations, more vending machines and a range of sustainable alternatives.
