Moot Court
Moot courts are international/European pleading competitions where students from many different countries prepare and plead a fictitious case on a specific part of International/European law before a bench of (often very renowned) international judges. Participation in a moot court provides the students with a unique invitation into the world of International and European law, and teaches them the invaluable skills of legal research, argumentation and public speaking.
Law Clinic
A Law Clinic offers students first-hand experience in research and writing - also useful for your Master’s thesis - and contributes to solving real-life problems. It works with local and international organisations in the field. The Clinic is for responsible master’s students committed to public service, who would like to exercise professional and academic skills and reflect on their own roles. Currently the Clinic offers mainly projects with a human rights focus, making joining the Clinic particularly interesting for students committed to social justice and human rights and for students considering a career in the non-for-profit sector.
The faculty supports students participating in the following moot courts and law clinic:
- Radboud Law Clinic;
- Frits Kalshoven International Humanitarian Law Competition (The Hague);
- International and humanitarian law role play and moot court competition (Ljubljana);
- European Law Moot Court Competition (ELMC);
The Moot Court competitions and the Law Clinic are optional courses in most specialisations of Master’s programmes (Dutch and English) of the Faculty of Law.
