What is the Radboud Green Certificate?
Is your association committed to making all its activities and processes as sustainable as possible? The Sustainability Guide for Student Associations gives you practical tools to get started. With the “Radboud Green Certificate”, increasing sustainability within associations now gets an extra boost: by completing a questionnaire, you gain insight into your own association's sustainability performance. You then share best practices with each other. As proof of your participation, you will receive a certificate. Take responsibility and see if your score leads to a bronze, silver, gold or platinum vignette this year!
Why participate?
- You lead by example (as you should as a board member)
- It brings you experience in the sustainability field
- You can benchmark your performance against that of other associations
- You can use the certificate to attract new sponsors
"Knowing how sustainable we are is important to us, and it gives an incentive to everyone to improve in this." Study Association Mundus
How to qualify
In short: you fill in a questionnaire and provide proof with the answers in four different documents. The questions cover, for example, activities around sustainability, sustainable travel, or an association's sustainability policy. Evidence can be anything; photos, screenshots of paragraphs in policy documents, receipts, etc. You e-mail all materials to the Radboud Green Office and based on the completed questionnaire, a score will be produced and you will be told whether you are eligible - in addition to the earned Certificate - for an additional bronze, silver, gold or platinum vignette.
Full instructions are described in the RGC Guidelines. Read these carefully before you start! Other documents you will need can be found at the bottom of the Downloads.
Time investement
The associations that participated in the pilot round of the programme reported that it had taken them 4 to 8 hours. This time mainly goes into collecting the evidence for the answers.
