Prevent contamination
You can get infected with scabies by sharing the bed, clothes, dress-up clothes or cuddly toys with someone who has scabies. But also by having skin contact with someone who has scabies for more than 15 minutes. For example, contamination can happen by helping an infected person wash and dress, having sex or sleeping together in the same bed. So don't use someone else's unwashed clothes or bedding, and avoid physical contact with someone who has scabies.
