Who is Green+ and what do you stand for?

Green+ is the student party that campaigns for sustainability, inclusivity, animal welfare and social safety at Radboud University.

Students deserve a safe campus where it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from. Everyone belongs here. We are the voice for everyone who isn’t being heard. We will be working tirelessly in the coming period for students, as well as for the animals and the natural environment on our campus. The university must work for you.

What are your three main priorities for the coming year?

In recent years, we have worked to make our campus future-proof, and we will continue to do so. To make our campus even better, we must focus on broad sustainability, inclusivity for students and nature, and create policies that work for students.

  • Our campus must become more sustainable in every respect. Students must receive high-quality teaching on the climate crisis, teaching materials must be accessible online as much as possible, food provision must be sustainable, healthy and affordable, and the university should only have links with partners who are fully committed to sustainability and human rights.
  • Green+ wants students, regardless of their background, faith, gender, sexual orientation or physical or mental disability, to feel comfortable and safe on our campus. But this does not apply only to people. Our university is also home to a great deal of non-human life. That is why we want to give nature space and stop animal testing as soon as possible.
  • Finally, it is important that our students see tangible results from Radboud’s policies. Green+ does not want students to spend a lot of money on teaching materials that change every year if it is not necessary. Public transport must remain accessible to students, and we want our campus to open a bike shop where you can rent, buy and have bikes repaired at a low price.

Why should students vote for you?

Green+ is the only party that looks beyond the next few years. We have a vision that keeps the campus liveable and enjoyable for future generations. We keep a close eye on the university’s policies and come up with real solutions to the problems we face. We don’t just shout from the sidelines, but submit our own concrete initiatives for a sustainable and fair campus.

The campus needs a thorn in its side, one that champions voices that are less likely to be heard. Green+ will continue to do just that next year.
