Who is Verenigd Onder Studentenbelang (V.O.S.) and what do you stand for?
Verenigd Onder Studentenbelang (V.O.S.) is the party of and for the active student: students who are committed and active in student councils, committees, societies, initiatives and communities. We believe that the university is more than just a place to earn credits. It is a community where students develop academically, socially and personally. V.O.S. is therefore committed to higher student grants, more scope for student initiatives, and better campus facilities through more meeting places and areas where students can prepare their own food. V.O.S. is the party that seeks collaboration, both within the USC and with our umbrella organisations.
What are your three main priorities for the coming year?
- The active student: Your time as a student at Radboud University should contribute to your personal development, with student organisations playing a key role. That is why we strive for a university where students can be active in student life without barriers in terms of time, money or support, whilst at the same time being able to study effectively.
- The vibrant campus: A vibrant campus is more than just a place to study. It is an environment where students feel at home and meet one another. That is why we are committed to a lively and affordable campus, with good facilities, great events and space for socialising. At the same time, we are strengthening well-being and social safety, so that every student feels welcome and at home.
- Student Societies are essential for a vibrant student life, but do not always receive the facilities, recognition and support they deserve. That is why we are committed to better facilities, active involvement of societies in campus life and fair treatment of all student representatives.
Why should students vote for you?
Because V.O.S. stems from the five umbrella associations at Radboud University, we have our feet firmly planted in student life and know what is going on among students.
We are therefore the ideal party to propose and implement concrete and achievable improvements, ensuring that active student life remains accessible, societies are recognised, and we create a vibrant campus characterised by strong education and strong student participation. For us, collaboration is key, to effectively represent student interests and make a real difference for every Radboud student.
