Summer closure 2026: Impact on students

Where and when?

The summer closure period runs from 20 July up and until 9 August.  

Buildings that will be closed

  • Erasmus building
  • Berchmanianum  
  • Grotius buidling
  • Thomas van Aquinostraat 1 
  • Maria Montessori building (The laboratory areas on the ground floor and first floor remain accessible to researchers subject to authorisation)  

Building that will stay open

Study workplaces  

The study workplaces in the closed buildings and the Huygens building will not be accessible. Students can use the study workplaces in the University Library instead. 

Student Advisors and Student Support

Student support services will continue as much as possible during the summer closure period. Appointments with student support staff (such as your student advisor or student psychologist) may take place at an alternative location, such as the Huygens building, or online. Please check your appointment details carefully to see where it is taking place.  

Central Student Desk

The Central Student Desk is closed to walk-ins during the summer period. They can be contacted by telephone, email or by appointment. Appointments are mainly held in the EOS building, room 00.210. 

STIP desks 

Some STIP desks are only reachable by phone, or temporarily move to another building. Check out the information for each building to see what applies to you. 

Radboud Sport & Culture

The facilities of Radboud Sport & Culture in the Gymnasion building will stay available during the summer closure.

Erasmus building - FdL & FFTR 

STIP FFTR
Closed: 27 July until 7 August
From 13 July until 24 July, the STIP will only be reachable by phone (via 0631132871) and by e-mail (stip [at] ftr.ru.nl) from Tuesday until Friday.  

STIP FdL 
From 20 July to 8 August, STIP can only be contacted by telephone and email.  
Student advisors will be available on a limited basis; enquiries can also be directed to STIP.

Elinor Ostrom building - FdM 

STIP FdM
Between 20 July and 14 August, the STIP helpdesk can only be contacted by email at stip [at] fm.ru.nl and by telephone on 024-3615925 between 10.00 and 13.30. STIP will be closed for the whole week from 27 July to 31 July, including by telephone and email. 

 

Maria Montessori building – FSW 

STIP FSW
Between 20 July and 9 August, the STIP helpdesk can only be contacted by email at stip [at] socsci.ru.nl (stip[at]socsci[dot]ru[dot]nl).
The physical desk will be closed during this period, and STIP cannot be reached by telephone.  

 

Huygens building - FNWI

STIP FNWI
STIP will be closed from 20 July to 31 July (though they can still be contacted by email). From 3 August to 14 August, STIP will be open from 10.00 to 14.00. The car park beneath the Huygens Building will be closed from 3 to 9 August. 

Studiecentrum - FMW

STIP FMW (Biomedical sciences, Medicine and Molecular Mechanisms of Disease)

the STIP is closed on 22 en 24 July, and from 27 until 31 July.
