Set up Wifi (eduroam) on the campus

You will only need to sign in once to the Eduroam Wi-Fi network in order to access the Wi-Fi on campus. Please read the instructions for your type of device.

Steps

  1. Eduroam: Sign up for iPhone and iPad

    Follow these steps:

    1. Settings.
    2. Wifi.
    3. Choose: eduroam.
    4. Enter your first name and surname with a dot between both names, followed by @ru.nl (firstname.surname [at] ru.nl).
    5. Enter your Radboud password.
    6. Click on: 'Connect'.
    7. In the upper right corner click on 'Trust' to accept the certificate.
  2. Eduroam: Sign up for Android

    Follow these steps:

    1. Settings.
    2. Wifi & Internet.
    3. Wifi.
    4. Choose: Eduroam.
    5. Security Settings:
      - EAP Method: choose 'PEAP'
      - EAP Phase 2 authentication: choose 'MSCHAPV2'
      - CA certificate of server: choose 'Default'.
      Make sure the Anonymous identity field is empty.
    6. Enter your first name and surname with a dot between both names, followed by @ru.nl (firstname.surname [at] ru.nl).
    7. Enter your Radboud password.
    8. Click on 'Connect'.

    Some Android devices require you to enter a domain: enter ' ru.nl' here.

  3. Eduroam: Sign up for Windows laptops

    Follow these steps:

    1. Click on the Wifi-character in the lower right corner of the bar.
    2. Select eduroam.
    3. Enter your first name and surname with a dot between both names, followed by @ru.nl (firstname.surname [at] ru.nl).
    4. Enter your Radboud password.
    5. Choose: 'Connect'.
    6. Select 'Connect' again.

    *If you don't get the input fields, right-click on eduroam. Then choose 'Forget network'. And start with step one again.

  4. Eduroam: Sign up for iMac, MacBook

    Follow these steps:

    1. Select the Wifi-icon in the upper right corner of your screen.
    2. Select eduroam.
    3. Enter your first name and surname with a dot between both names, followed by @ru.nl (firstname.surname [at] ru.nl).
    4. Enter your Radboud password.
    5. Choose: 'Connect'.

    * Sometimes you get a pop-up that you have to accept to put the certificate in keychain. Then you will be asked to log in with your Mac password. Do this and you are connected.

  5. Eduroam: Sign up for Chromebook

    1. Make sure you are near the eduroam wireless network
    2. Click on the clock at the bottom right of your screen
    3. Click on the wifi icon
    4. Choose 'eduroam'
    5. Security Settings:
      - EAP Method: choose 'PEAP'
      - EAP Phase 2 authentication: choose 'MSCHAPV2'
      - CA certificate of server: choose 'Default'.
    6. Domain: enter 'RU.nl'.
    7. Identity: enter your first name and surname with a dot between both names, followed by @ru.nl (firstname.surname [at] ru.nl).
    8. Password: enter your Radboud password
    9. Anonymous identity: Enter 'anonymous [at] ru.nl'
    10. Enable 'Save identity and password
    11. Click on 'Connect'

If this method does not work on your device, use geteduroam.
