Students who do not feel safe in their studies, internships or coships, are faced with a conflict, suffer from undesirable behaviour, such as (sexual) harassment, bullying or discrimination, can contact a confidential adviser, free of charge. During a confidential discussion, the confidential adviser will listen to what you have to say and will discuss with you the ways in which your situation can be resolved. You will always be in control of the process.

When should you consult the confidential adviser?
Contact a confidential adviser if you have been exposed to undesirable behaviour or if you suspect that you are being subjected to undesirable behaviour online or offline. Examples of undesirable forms of behaviour are:
- Sexual intimidation
The definition of ‘undesirable’ is subjective. What is undesirable for one person may not be so for another. The situation will only become a problem when you cannot work it out together.

What does the counselling entail?
The confidential adviser offers a sympathetic ear and is independent. The confidential adviser will take a constructive approach and will help you to find a solution that will put an end to the undesirable behaviour. One of the ways in which a confidential adviser can help is to initiate a discussion with the perpetrator. However, at your request, the confidential advisor can also engage a mediator for you or help you to lodge a complaint with the independent Complaints Committee.
