Applying for a student organisation subsidy

Student organisations may apply for a subsidy from Student Life. Organisations that are members of Culture on the Campus (CODC), the Nijmegen Student Sports Council (NSSR) or Student Study Clubs (SOFv) will need to apply for a subsidy through the umbrella organisation. There are three types of subsidies:

  1. The start-up subsidy for new student organisations;
  2. The guarantee subsidy for annual budgets,
  3. The guarantee subsidy for incidental projects.

Subsidy applications should be submitted before the following deadlines:

  • 4 May 2022
  • 8 June 2022

1. Start-up subsidy

If you are planning to set up a student organisation, you can apply for a start-up subsidy. To be eligible for the subsidy, your application should:

  • Clarify what it is that your organisation will add to the current range of student organisations in Nijmegen;
  • Show that there are enough students who are willing to join your organisation.

You can apply for a subsidy by using the following form: Applying for a Subsidy for a New Student Organisation.

2. Guarantee subsidy for an annual budget

If your expenses have turned out to be greater than you budgeted for in your annual budget, for example because one of your events needed to be organised on a larger scale, you can apply for a guarantee subsidy. You will be eligible for a subsidy if your student organisation is an accredited organisation. Your application should include:

  • A description of your organisation, and details of its objective and target group;
  • A paragraph on how the plan will contribute to sustainability;
  • A paragraph on how the plan will contribute to diversity;
  • The audited accounts for the previous financial year;
  • The annual budget and balance sheet with explanatory notes.

You will need to apply for the subsidy within the first three months of the new financial year. For this purpose, please use the following form: Applying for a Guarantee Subsidy for the Annual Budget of an Incidental Project

3. Guarantee subsidy for an incidental project

If you need to unexpectedly organise an event that was not included in your annual budget, you can apply for a guarantee subsidy. You will be eligible for a subsidy if your student organisation is an accredited organisation. Your application should include:

  • Details of your objective and the project’s target group;
  • Details of the hosting parties;
  • Details of the communication plan;
  • A paragraph on how the project will contribute to sustainability;
  • A paragraph on how the project will contribute to diversity;
  • The budget and balance sheet with explanatory notes.

You will need to apply for the subsidy at least two months before the project starts or the event is held. For this purpose, please use the following form: Applying for a Guarantee Subsidy for an Incidental Project
