Take into account that:
- You are going abroad as part of your studies (e.g. for a minor or internship).
- You can demonstrably not leave at a later date (e.g. because the introduction or the start of your studies abroad coincides with the exam period here).
- At the time of application, you have a maximum study delay of one year (nominal study duration + 1). If your delay is longer, you are not eligible for this arrangement, as you have had multiple opportunities to take the relevant course(s) in previous years.
- You are taking the course for the first time in the relevant academic year.
- It concerns the first opportunity to take the exam. In the case of a resit, participation in the arrangement is only possible if you took part in the first opportunity (in the relevant academic year).
- The course is part of the compulsory curriculum of your programme (i.e. not an elective, extracurricular course, etc.).
- The foreign university is able to facilitate the exam in accordance with the said terms and conditions.
- You may take a maximum of four exams abroad.
What do you need to do?
- Check to see whether the exam can be held on the same day and at the same time as the exam in the Netherlands (time differences, public holidays and holidays will also need to be taken into account);
- Make sure that you have the name of a contact person at the university you physically want to take the exam. Then check with them to see whether:
- It is possible to take the exam there and whether this will involve any costs. These costs will be borne by the student and they may be quite substantial;
- A room with a stable internet connection is available;
- In the case of a digital exam, you have access to a suitable device (laptop or desktop PC) with a Chrome browser so that you can sit the exam;
- An invigilator will be present during the exam.
- Register for the exam via Osiris (only for Radboud students not for international students).
If you are able to meet these requirements, please complete this form so that your request can be officially submitted to the International Office Social Sciences (IOSS). This form must be completed no later than six weeks before the exam date.
Following the request
After your request has been made, the IOSS will officially submit the request to take the exam abroad to the designated contact person. Discussions will be held with the contact person in order to ensure that everything is arranged properly. And to ensure that the contact person has additional information, such as general instructions for the exam (and technical instructions if needed), the time and date when the exam will be sent and what is expected after the exam has been taken.
Please note that a great deal of organisation is required to facilitate exams that are taken abroad. This means that this option is not optional. Once everything has been arranged so that you can take an exam abroad, you will also have to sit the exam! If you ultimately do not take the exam abroad, you will be excluded from this arrangement for all future cases.
