Guidelines for weblectures
Lectures, seminars and practical teaching such as Rotas take place physically at the university. As it is not possible for everyone to be physically present (all the time), the teaching of some subjects is recorded as web lectures. For this, the following applies:
Bachelor and pre-Master education
In the bachelor's and premaster's courses, the following applies:
- All lectures are recorded as weblectures. These recordings are made available to all students one week prior to the (re)examination. Have you missed one or more lectures, for example because you were ill or had to go to hospital? Then you can review these missed lectures in the week before the (re)exam.
- Work seminars are not recorded. No digital alternative is offered for practical education such as the Rotas and Academic Skills sessions either.
Master students
For lectures in the master's programme, it is determined per course whether lectures are recorded and whether they are made available to regular students. Information about this can be found per course in the course information on Brightspace.
Student groups with earlier access to weblectures
Do you fall into one of the categories listed below? If so, you may be given earlier (temporary) access to the weblectures. You can discuss this with the student advisor. Access to the weblectures will always take place in consultation with the student advisor and will only be possible for a study duration that the study advisor considers realistic and feasible.
- Part-time students;
- Students of the post-initial Master in Tax Law;
- Contract students;
- Students who have been advised by the student counsellor the provision of web lectures;
- Recidivists in the undergraduate phase who have demonstrable overlap;
- Students who are members of the Programme Committee and/or Faculty Student Council who have overlap between lectures and meetings of the Programme Committee and/or FGV;
- Students of combination studies offered by the faculty who have demonstrable timetable overlap;
- Students taking two full studies, only one of which is legal and have demonstrable schedule overlap;
- Students participating in one of the faculty's talent programmes and missing lectures due to related activities
- Students holding a management position with a faculty study association.
Please note that it is at all times up to the student advisor to decide whether access will be granted and, if so, to which web lecture(s) and for what period of time.
Exceptions
Only in very exceptional cases may the student advisors decide to make recordings available to other students. In doing so, they take into account your personal circumstances, your study load and your study progress.
Examples of situations that do not count as exceptional cases:
- Absence of up to one week (e.g. illness or a funeral)
- Holiday or (study) trip
- Internship (legal or non-legal)
- Work (legal or otherwise)
- Travel time or travel costs
- Schedule overlap for (elective) courses in the master's programme
- Schedule overlap due to a non-realistic study load
Do you think you qualify for an exception? Then make an appointment with the student advisor or contact us during the telephone or walk-in hours to discuss this. Requests for exception via e-mail will not be processed.
