The social safety guide for student board members supports student organisations that are working on the issue of social safety or wish to do so.
The guide helps to create and safeguard a socially safe organisation. It focuses on the responsibility and exemplary role of student boards, the timely identification and open discussion of undesirable behaviour, and the careful handling of concerns and incidents – ranging from informal discussions to formal measures.
In addition, the guide offers concrete guidance on prevention, policy and procedures. It also includes practical tools, such as a template for a student organisation’s code of conduct and guidelines for reporting structures and support.
In this way, the guide supports boards in fostering a safe, open and respectful organisational culture.
The guide was developed as part of the Prevent Care Cure project, with input from the University Students’ Council, the umbrella organisations, staff from SLIM, Student Affairs, the Confidential Advisers’ Team, and the ombudsman.
