What will you learn?

The modules in the lecture series Spiritual Direction focus on deepening the spiritual process. You will learn to support people with questions of life, meaning and their relationship to the world. Spiritual counselling aims to offer people insight into their spiritual process. A spiritual director helps people in their search for, and relationship with, what moves them at their deepest level. This search unfolds in life as a spiritual path full of experiences, hesitations, learning moments and new discoveries. On this path, people encounter themselves with all their positive and negative sides. In this spiritual process, however, one need not stand alone. Expert spiritual directors are able to support people on this path.

Modules

It is possible to take the course as a whole, but the parts can also be taken separately (contract teaching). 

• Module Guidance on the Spiritual Path: start 3 September 2025.
• Module Embodied spirituality: start 11 February 2026.
• Module the Spiritual Process: start 9 September 2026.
• Module the Practice of Spiritual guidance: start September 2026.
• Module Passion and Commitment: start 10 February 2027.
• Assesment final portfolio Spiritual Guidance: starts every semester.

Upon completion of this course

• You will have developed competencies as a spiritual director to guide spiritual processes.
• As a spiritual director, you know how to help people listen and look at what is happening in the depths of existence.
• You can articulate, represent and maintain your own spirituality from the awareness of a personal dependence on the greater whole and an insight into what moves you deeper.
• You know how to (critically) reflect on your own spirituality in relation to others and in relation to spiritual guidance
• You have learned how to adopt a listening attitude in spiritual guidance and can express yourself communicatively effectively.
   

Flexible study

The above modules are offered within the lecture series Spiritual Direction . Join the individual modules live (on location or online), or study at home afterwards and take the courses digitally. The recordings are available digitally after the live course. You will then be entitled to one hour of individual time with the teachers linked to this module. You can join at any time.
