Travel and home-working allowances in relation to absence and leave

Maternity leave

Travel allowances are suspended during your maternity and childbirth leave; you do not need to take any action regarding this.

Birth leave

During birth leave, the average allowance continues to be paid; you do not need to adjust your travel or working-from-home arrangements.

Supplementary birth leave

If you take the supplementary birth leave consecutively, the allowance will be suspended. You do not need to take any action. If you travel to work by public transport, you will have an NS Business Card. If you have a season ticket linked to it, this will be suspended remotely for the duration of your leave and reactivated once your leave has ended.
If you take supplementary paternity leave in instalments over a longer period, you will need to adjust your travel and working-from-home patterns yourself in Bass. If you travel to work by public transport, you will have an NS Business Card. In that case, please contact TC&O (mobydesk [at] TCO-mvm.nl) to check whether your existing travel product is suitable for your travel pattern.

(Un)paid Parental Leave

If you take (un)paid parental leave as a continuous period, your travel allowance will be suspended during this time. If you travel to work by public transport, you will hold an NS Business Card. If you have a season ticket linked to this card, it will be suspended remotely for the duration of your leave and reactivated once your leave has ended.
If you take (un)paid parental leave in separate blocks and your travel and home-working patterns change during this period, you must update this yourself in BASS. If you travel to work by public transport, you will hold an NS Business Card. In that case, please contact TC&O (mobydesk [at] TCO-mvm.nl) to check whether your existing travel product is suitable for your travel pattern.

Long-term sickness

If you are absent due to sickness, your travel and home-working allowances will continue to be paid for the current and the following calendar month. Once you have recovered, the allowances will resume from the first day of the month following the month of your recovery. You do not need to adjust your travel and home-working patterns; HR will ensure that the correct allowance is paid.

Wellbeing Pact

Under the Wellbeing Pact, your working week will change. Adjust your travel and home-working days yourself in BASS. If you travel to work by public transport, you will hold an NS Business Card. Check with TC&O (mobydesk [at] TCO-mvm.nl) to see if your existing travel pass suits your travel pattern.

Unpaid leave

If you take consecutive periods of unpaid leave, your travel allowance will be suspended during this period. If you travel to work by public transport, you will hold an NS Business Card. If you have a season ticket linked to this card, it will be suspended remotely for the duration of your leave and reactivated once your leave has ended.
If you take unpaid leave in spread-out instalments, you must adjust your travel and home-working days yourself in BASS. If you travel to work by public transport, you will have an NS Business Card. Ask TC&O (mobydesk [at] TCO-mvm.nl) whether your existing travel pass is suitable for your travel pattern.

Change in daily duties

If your daily duties change, your travel and home-working days may also change. In that case, please update your travel and home-working days yourself in BASS. If you travel to work by public transport, you will have an NS Business Card. Please contact TC&O (mobydesk [at] TCO-mvm.nl) to check whether your existing travel pass suits your travel pattern.

Termination of contract

If you have been using an NS Business Card, we ask you to return it. For more information on this, see ‘Arranging an NS Business Card via TC&O Mobydesk’.

Taking a day’s holiday

In that case, you do not need to adjust your travel and home-working pattern. This has already been factored into the calculation of the average monthly allowance.
