'For me, being a teacher is the best job in the world because I get to contribute something positive to the professional development of young people. I love it when I see students grow and take brave steps. As a teacher, I am grateful that I can and may help them with this.
I am also a teacher-ambassador for the Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre. As a teacher-ambassador, I intend, together with my colleague Sandra Arntz, to inspire other teachers to get the best out of themselves. Because if you teach from knowledge and enthusiasm, with attention to yourself and others, this has a positive impact on our students. And that is ultimately what we aim for as teachers.
Being part of the Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) gives an extra dimension to working at Radboud University. For example, the TLC's teachers' lounge is a place where teachers from all faculties meet, we are curious about each other's views and are open to new ideas about teaching and research on teaching. We also seek cooperation with other faculties, civil society organisations and, last but not least, our students. This inspires me, because good teaching transcends the individual and the walls of our campus.'
