"I took classical Harp lessons for 10 years, my favourite book is Frankenstein, and I play a lot of Dungeons and Dragons."
Nationality: American
Programme: Bachelor's student in Artificial Intelligence
Previous education: I went to a small high school which emphasized self-directed learning. When I was 17, I attended an early college programme called The Clarkson School where I did a year of university as my senior year of high school.
Why did I choose Radboud University: I chose the Netherlands because I wanted to study abroad for my whole bachelor’s study, and Radboud’s AI programme included a lot of interdisciplinary courses where I’d be able to learn about topics like Neuroscience and Linguistics along with more technical computer science classes.
What am I looking forward to the most regarding coming to Nijmegen: Independence. This is the first real time in my life where I’m living on my own, and although I’m far from my friends and family back home, I’ve built a nice social structure here where that’s not a problem.
A fun fact about myself: I took classical Harp lessons for 10 years, my favourite book is Frankenstein, and I play a lot of Dungeons and Dragons.
My favourite motto is: “If you don’t ask, the answer is always no.” This motto is more of a reminder to myself to not miss opportunities because I’m too embarrassed to ask for them or afraid of rejection. It’s still something I’m working on, but I think I’m getting better.
