You can find more information under procedure. SSH& offers mixed housing, which means you share the hallway with male and female international Bachelor's, Master's and exchange students. There are only a few women-only corridors available.

To make your start easier the SSH& offers a bed linen package (including a quilt, pillow, fitted sheet, pillow cover, quilt cover, but no towels) which costs €46,-. You can also purchase a kitchen utensils set (including a porcelain deep plate, porcelain flat plate, fruit bowl, mug, lemonade glass, table spoon, table knife, table fork, teaspoon, potato peeler, wok pan of 28 cm, saucepan of 16 cm, cooking pan) for €51,-. During the booking process in Book Your Room you can opt for these packages.

Rooms in real estate residences

Radboud University also cooperates with a number of private real estate agencies. These real estate agencies offer student rooms and apartments in a number of residences. All these residences are located in the city centre of Nijmegen and are approximately a ten minute bike ride from the university.

If you get a room in one of these complexes, you will have your own furnished room and you will in most cases share the kitchen and bathroom facilities with other students. Some rooms in the residences have their own kitchen. Furthermore, these residences have a limited number of rooms for couples.

The prices for rooms range from €355 to €650 per month, depending on the size of the room and the availability of a private kitchen. This price includes energy, water and internet (no Wi-Fi in most cases, but via cable). There are also some studios and apartments with (partly) own facilities on offer. Prices for this kind of accommodation range from €650 to €1100.

For these residences you need to bring your own bed linen or you can buy it (in some cases) at the agency. We can provide you with a list of shops on arrival. This way you can easily buy your own. Kitchen utensils might be available, but limited.

Availability of rooms in these residences is scarce. Radboud University therefore cannot guarantee that you will get your room of preference, but will of course do its utmost to take your preferences into consideration.

Rooms sublet by students going abroad

Radboud University partly depends on rooms temporarily left vacant by Radboud students going on exchange abroad. This can be a room in a student complex or student house. The latter usually being a private house with 4 to 8 rooms. This means that you will probably have to share the kitchen and bathroom facilities with other students. If this type of accommodation is available for you, Radboud University will assign you a room and bring you into contact with the student subletting the room. You will have to make all the arrangements (regarding arrival, rent payment, etc) with the student yourself. The rent for rooms in the private sector may vary from €350 to €650 per month. Often, one month's rent must be paid in advance as a deposit. The deposit will be returned to you at the end of your stay if the room is found to be in a satisfactory condition, and all bills have been paid.

Rooms in private houses

Student rooms can also be in a private house in which the landlady or landlord rents out one, sometimes two rooms. You will share the kitchen and bathroom facilities with other students, and/or in some cases with the landlady/landlord. If this type of accommodation is available for you, the Radboud University will assign you a room and bring you into contact with the owner. Also in this case, you will have to make all the arrangements (such as arrival, rent payment, etc.) with the owner of the room yourself. The rent for rooms in the private sector may vary from €350 to €650 per month. Often, one month's rent must be paid in advance as a deposit. The deposit will be returned to you at the end of your stay if the room is found to be in a satisfactory condition, and all bills have been paid.
