Accommodation Service
Students who start a programme at Radboud University can request assistance in finding furnished accommodation when they live abroad (with an exception for degree-seeking students living in this area in Germany and students already living in the Netherlands).
Radboud University will process your request for assistance when you have applied before the deadline.
You need to submit your Pre-arrival Services Form (= PAS) before the deadline 1 June for 1st semester and 1 December for 2nd semester to have a better chance of being offered accommodation, as we cannot offer housing to all incoming international students. The PAS is integrated in your online application and is activated after admission in Osiris (for degree-seeking student) or after application (for exchange students). You can indicate if you want to make use of this accommodation assistance in this form. As mentioned before accommodation is not guaranteed as rooms are very limited.
If we find suitable accommodation for you (based on availability), we will contact you by e-mail. Housing offered by Radboud University is for a maximum of one year (first year of study only) and has to be confirmed within one week.
No extension possible
There is no extension possible after the fixed end date of your contract. For exchange students who originally registered for half a year, please be warned that your contract cannot be extended for another 6 months if you want to extend your stay. You will have to find alternative accomodation yourself (pdf, 261 kB). And please start looking for a second room early and use your whole social network for this as well.

Contract periods
The Radboud University cooperates with third parties that offer furnished rooms. The housing contracts have fixed periods.

Please be aware that the contract data of your room contract can deviate from the semester data below. This will be specified in your room offer.

Finding a room yourself
As we cannot guarantee housing for all new incoming students you can of course already try to find a room yourself. Please make sure to start searching well in advance of your studies.
Option 1:
Register directly with the SSH& (Student Housing Nijmegen). The SSH& has housing units in 16 different properties and more than 30 buildings in Nijmegen. You can find information about their application procedure at www.sshn.nl.
Rooms are assigned through a lottery. For more information, please consult the SSH& website. Please note that this type of short stay housing is not available to exchange students.
Option 2:
Moreover, you can consult this list (pdf, 261 kB) of rental recommendations and references, like popular rental websites and (commercial) student housing agencies.
Warning
In case you find accommodation by yourself, please carefully check references and reviews, and avoid transferring large amounts of rent before arrival.
Please send an e-mail to housing@ru.nl with the address of your room in the Netherlands. Make sure to also update your address in Osiris after your arrival.
No room yet?
As you already may know there is a housing shortage in all student town in the Netherlands including Nijmegen. So please be aware that if you are an international student and have not been able to find a room before 1 August, to not travel to Nijmegen and try finding accommodation after arrival. You will have to start finding a room early while still being in your own country.
