"All of my life, I’ve always known that I want to go abroad for higher education"
Nationality: Indonesian
Programme: Bachelor's in Chemistry
Why did I choose Radboud University: All of my life, I’ve always known that I want to go abroad for higher education. It’s just a matter of in which country? Then one day in high school during physics class, I got bored and started to search for universities in Google. My ultimate aim was scholarship. However most of the universities I found offered one for Master’s programme only. But I was persistent. Then on the bottom of a page, a university caught my eye, Radboud University Nijmegen. I went straight to the Bachelor's program listed and shouted for joy. As I read more about the details, I just knew. First, the location is reachable from my aunt’s house. Second, chemistry programmed has been awarded as the best Dutch programme of its kind and the very best of all Dutch Bachelor’s. Lastly, there’s a scholarship (although it’s only for my first year).
What am I looking forward to the most regarding coming to Nijmegen: I am most excited about starting over again. Meeting new friends (especially the internationals), coming to a new school in a new country, city and environment. Culture shock is not a problem for me. In fact, I’m excited about that too. I can’t wait to dive into the student life everyone’s been talking about and be part of the Dutch society.
A fun fact about myself: I have the same birthday as the first Indonesian female President. I easily get annoyed by silly things but at the same time amused by other silly things. Furthermore, I love chocolate hates candy and drinks no coffee, just tea.
