"Outside the box thinking. Not all universities are interested in that"
Nationality: Brazilian
Programme: Master's in Pedagogical Sciences
Previous education: I am graduated in Psychology, and I worked mostly with children and teenagers in the field of disability studies.
Why did I choose Radboud University: Radboud’s website challenged me to question my beliefs. Quite literally! It says: we invite you to change perspectives. They had me right there! It was exactly what I was looking for in post-graduation studies: outside the box thinking. Not all universities are interested in that, but being flexible and open to questions is something that I deeply value in all leves of education.
What am I looking forward to the most regarding coming to Nijmegen: I hear Nijmegen is quite the historical place. I’m excited to learn more about Dutch history and culture. And hopefully make some new friends from all over the world on the way, and learn about their history and culture too. Oh, and I simply MUST learn how to properly drive a bike.
A fun fact about myself: As a brazilian born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, carnival is a huge part of my life. In fact, half my wardrobe is made of diverse costume and props. I obviously won’t be able to take them in my suitcase (priorities...) and I’m terribly scared of suddenly needing all that for one or other reason. Well, if I think reasonably, doesn’t seem very likely that I will need a pirate hat or a clown’s skirt at any occasion. I might still carry a bit of glitter with me just in case, though.
