AGREEn: Work on local sustainability projects to support external organisations

AGREEn is a student organisation that helps companies and other project partners find sustainable solutions. Our aim is to shed a positive light on sustainability: With a can-do mentality and a welcoming community, together we can make the world a little better! Since 2016, AGREEn has been working on topics for local businesses and societal projects. At AGREEn, students can use their practical knowledge and creativity to work on green cases for our project partners. Every Monday evening, the students of AGREEn come together to work in teams on one of the cases. In the past, AGREEn has worked with Drift Festival, the Municipality of Nijmegen, SSH& and many more. New projects start twice a year, in September and February, and run for a semester.

Rethinking Economics: Strive for an alternative and adequate economic system

Rethinking Economics is an international network of students and recent graduates who strive for an alternative and adequate economic system by critically reflecting on the current one. They have networks spread all around the globe. In the Netherlands they have centers in the universities of Rotterdam, Utrecht, Nijmegen and Maastricht.

In Nijmegen they pride the presence of people within their network from several different nationalities and all sorts of backgrounds, ranging from business and economics, to environment and society studies, biology, anthropology, sociology, development studies and more. This vast diversity prompts animated discussions about the current world we live in and the economic and financial systems which, in some ways, move this world. Next to holding such discussions, the organisation tries to make concrete steps by engaging with the academic debate and hosting events such as guest lectures and documentary viewings with the aim of stimulating an active and critical discussion amongst peers and academics.

More information about the organisation and their events can be found on their website or LinkedIn. To get in contact you can write to: nijmegen@rethinkingeconomics.nl.

Internal collaboration within the Student Sustainability Network

The Radboud Green Office has close ties with the above mentioned associations; together we form the Student Sustainability Network. We support associations by bringing them together and promoting their events via our channels. Would you like to collaborate with your association?
