Registration and BSN

As a new resident of the Netherlands you are required to register with your local municipality. As soon as you register, you will obtain a Citizen Service Number (BSN).



When you start your life in the Netherlands, you will need a European IBAN bank account for your salary payments, preferably from a Dutch bank. In the Netherlands, credit cards are rarely used and you will need a debit card.
