Enny Das new member of Academia Europaea

Professor Enny Das of the Centre for Language Studies (CLS) has been appointed to the Academia Europaea, the European society of researchers who are among the best in the world. Academia Europaea boasts roughly two thousand top European scientists from across the entire range of sciences.

Each year, the most engaging international candidates are selected. Prof. EnnyEnny Das Das is professor of communication and persuasion and a member of the Health Council. Her research focuses in particular on communicating about health. Das studied social psychology at the University of Amsterdam, and obtained her PhD at Utrecht University (2001) for her research into defensive responses to information messages that aim to convince target groups by frightening them. Her current projects focus on questions such as 'what effects does the form of a message have on risk perceptions and health behaviour', 'why do people watch tragic movies about death?' and '(how) can a computational approach improve health communication?'
