At the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty Admission Board decides whether or not a prospective student can be admitted to a study program.

The Faculty Admission Board

The Faculty Admission Board consists of the following members:

  • dr. Mathilde Roza
  • dr. Stephan Mols (chairman)
  • drs. Ingrid Stassen

The Admission Board is supported by two administrative secretaries:

  • Susanne Mak MSc
  • Fenne Meeuwis MA

When to contact the Faculty Admission Board

In case your Dutch previous education does not offer direct access to one of our Bachelor’s or Master’s programs, the Faculty Admission Board will assess your previous education and decide whether or not you can be admitted to the study program. If your previous education has been followed outside of The Netherlands, the Faculty Admission Board always assess your previous education.

Request for admission

If you request admission to a Bachelor’s or Master’s program based on Dutch previous education that does not offer direct access to the program of your choice, please send an email to toelatingscommissie@let.ru.nl. Within six weeks the Faculty Admission Board will assess your previous education and decide whether or not you can be admitted to the study program. Please note: Requests for admission need to be submitted via Studielink before 1 July. After 1 July, we cannot guarantee that your application can be processed in time.

Request for admission premaster

If you want to apply for a premaster’s program at the Faculty of Arts and you have followed/are following your current educational program in The Netherlands, please apply for the premaster’s program of your choice via www.studielink.nl. You will then be requested to upload additional information in our student application system Osiris. The Admission Board will decide if you can be admitted to the program based on your previous education and if so, the Board will determine which courses are a part of your premaster’s program. You will receive a decision within six weeks.

Request for altering your premaster’s program

In exceptional cases, the Faculty Admission Board can decide to alter the pre-master program of a current premaster student at the Faculty of Arts, based on the student’s request.

You can only request such an alteration of your premaster’s program if you are already enrolled as a premaster’s student. Please send your request to toelatingscommissie@let.ru.nl and always mention the following:

  1. The reason for the request for alteration of your premaster’s program
  2. All courses in your premaster’s program that you want to replace (course code and full course name)
  3. The amount of ECTS per course mentioned under 2 and in total
  4. All new courses you propose to take in your premaster’s program as replacement courses (course code and full course name)
  5. The amount of ECTS per course mentioned under 4 and in total

Please make sure that the amount of ECTS in your premaster’s program meets the set requirements. The amount of ECTS mentioned in your original program cannot be altered in any way. The request for altering your premaster’s program can therefore only contain the replacement of one or more courses by one or more different courses.
