FELIX Laboratory feature in AstroPAH newsletter

Date of news: 1 December 2015

The FELIX Laboratory was featured in the "In Focus" section of the monthly AstroPAH newsletter. The title of the special article - written by Jordy Bouwman, Jos Oomens, and Britta Redlich – is ‘Astrochemistry and PAH IR spectroscopy at the FELIX Laboratory’.

InFocusThe AstroPAH newsletter focuses on research about polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in astronomical environments. Each month, AstroPAH publishes the abstracts of newly accepted papers and dissertations relevant to the world of interstellar PAHs.

The “In Focus” article mentions various examples of how action spectroscopy studies at the FELIX Laboratory can contribute to a better understanding of the infrared spectra of PAHs in various forms. For example, these IR spectra provide accurate experimental verification of computed spectra, allowing the constitution of various databases of PAH spectra. These databases can be used directly in the interpretation of interstellar emission spectra.
