Professor Gert von Helden, extraordinary professor at FELIX, received the 2018 John B. Fenn ASMS Award for a Distinguished Contribution in Mass Spectrometry together with Dr. Martin F. Jarrold and Dr. David E. Clemmer. They get this award for their pioneering contributions to the development of ion mobility spectrometry (IMS).
The John B. Fenn Award for a Distinguished Contribution in Mass Spectrometry recognizes a focused or singular achievement in fundamental or applied mass spectrometry. The award is conferred at the ASMS Annual Conference with the presentation of a $10,000 cash award, a recognition plaque, and the award lecture.
