What do you like about the programme/specialisation and why? How has the programme/specialisation challenged you (in relation to your previous education)?
I chose this program because of the courses (specially the mandatory ones) and the knowledge they could offer me. So far the courses have filled my expectations and are giving me a solid background for whatever I want to do after the degree in the biomedical field.
What do you think about the atmosphere in class (for example the relationship between students and with the teachers/researchers)?
I like how in the Netherlands the hierarchy is flat, I feel like the professors and researchers are approachable and this make a lot more easier to ask questions during or after the lecture.
What do you find most challenging in your Master’s (specialisation)? Have you encountered any obstacles?
The study workload is quite extensive in this program, but after the mandatory courses you can decide your own classes and this give a degree of freedom to chose what I want to prioritize in my degree.
Are you currently doing an internship? Or what is your thesis about?
I've just started my first internship at Genetics Department in RadboudUMC about new pipelines for Whole Genome Sequencing in cases of inherited hearing loss disorders.
