Women of Nimwegen: from Leaden Lady to Mariken

An historical walk through the lives of women of Nijmegen

As one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, Nijmegen has a rich history. Radboud Gender & Diversity Studies invites you to get to know some women of Nijmegen and the roles they played in the history of the city. In honor of the thirty year anniversary of the Institute for Gender Studies (predecessor of Radboud Gender & Diversity Studies) the citywalk app 'Women of Nimwegen' was developed. This citywalk guides you through the center and 'downtown' of Nijmegen, during which you will get acquainted with famous, infamous, and ordinary women from its history.

The app can be downloaded for iPhone and Android under the name 'Nimweegse Vrouwen' and is available in both Dutch and English. Here you can download the Dutch (pdf, 1,5 MB) and English (pdf, 1,5 MB) version of the app in PDF-format and the extended version including connotation (in Dutch) (pdf, 1,5 MB).

This way anyone, with or without a phone, can enjoy the citywalk!
