Metakids interview onovel biomarker

A team of researchers of HFML-FELIX and the Radboud University Medical Center discovered a biomarker for pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy. With this biomarker, which is a molecule indicating that in this case a person has pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy, doctors only need a drop of blood to be able to diagnose a patient. It also provides new insights in the mechanism of pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy.

Metakids, a Dutch organisation that raises funds for metabolic disease research, interviewed dr. Karlien Coene, Clinical Chemist Inborn Errors of Metabolism at the Radboud Medical Center. "At HFML-FELIX, they can exactly determine the molecular structure of a biomarker"
