PhD course Glycoscience (Cursus)

Starting in January 2021, the Radboud Consortium for Glycoscience PhD Council organises an introductory course on glycoscience. Available to all PhD students and postdocs, this course will provide basic knowledge of glycoscience, as well as applications of glycoscience for research and how glycoscience research impacts the clinic.


The course is an introduction in glycans and glycobiology to a broader biology context. You will learn about available tools to study glycosylation. The course includes theory, examples and an interactive part with relevant case-study. Topics: from Immonologie to Bacterial Glycans, Chemical probe design, Mass-Spectrometry, Metabolomics and NMR-techniques. Workload: about 2ECTS - 56 hrs. Course given by PhD's en PostDoc’s who are experts in the field.

In principle the course will be held at RadboudUMC in Nijmegen. Depending on the Coronavirus situation, it may be changed to an online event.

  • PhD students and Postdocs
  • Maximum of 25 participants (IMM, Donders, RIMLS, UMC)


Course dates (2021): 22-01; 05-02; 26-02; 05-03; 19-03; 08-04 and 23-04 (all afternoons).
