Seminar by Dr. Andrey Bagrov: 'Neural-network approach to many-body quantum physics' (Lecture)
- Tuesday 12 January 2021Add to my calendar

Dr. Andrey Bagrov (Uppsala University, Sweden)
In my talk, I will first explain in simple terms what many-body quantum theory is about, and how the recently proposed method of neural-network quantum states helps describe complex many-body quantum systems. Then I will give an overview of contributions of mine and my colleagues to the development of the method, and tell about expressibility and generalization properties of neural-network variational wave functions, as well as about new optimization and sampling algorithms we have devised. I will conclude with an outlook of open questions in quantum condensed matter physics where neural-network quantum states can be readily applied.
