(Integrating Sensor Based Process Monitoring and Advanced Process Control)

TKI-ISPT (Institute for Sustainable Process Technology)

Principal Investigator: Dr. Jeroen Jansen

Process Analytical Technology provides a wealth of information, used only to a limited extent to control the process for maintaining product quality. Model-based control relies heavily on first-principles knowledge and the potential to use empirical data are limited. Therefore, there is considerable room for enhanced cross-fertilization between both fields that could seriously reduce consumption of energy and other resources in the process industry. The department od Analytical Chemistry/Chemometrics and the Control Systems group at TU Eindhoven have started this project with the Institute for Sustainable Process Control and four large Dutch process industries: Friesland Campina, Corbion, Huntsman and DSM.

Participating companies:

  • Friesland Campina
  • Corbion Purac
  • Huntsman Holland BV.
  • Koninklijke DSM NV.
