  • 15.06.2023 FNWI Interdisciplinary Research Platform (IRP) voucher (read)
    The vouchers are available for pilot projects in which two or more research institutes initiate a new interdisciplinary research topic. The focus areas within the IRP are:
    Green information technology
    Machine learning in the natural sciences
    Experimental laboratories in life sciences

  • 08.06.2023 Netherlands eScience center - Open eScience Call 2023 (OEC 2023) full proposal (read) 
    Receive in-kind support from eScience Center research software engineers (RSEs) on state-of-the-art research needing research software. Two project sizes: 1.5 person year (Early career) & 2.5 person year (Spearhead).
  • 08.06.2023 Netherlands eScience center - Call for Sustainable Software 2023 (SS 2023) fullproposal (read).
    Receive 2 person-year (PYR) in-kind support from eScience Center RSEs on improving the sustainability of your software.
  • 15.06.2023  Intention statement: NWO KIC LTP Strategy-driven consortia with impact (read). 
    The strategic aim of an LTP is to provide a powerful and lasting impulse for the development of a field of science in the Netherlands that addresses a societal theme and/or one or more key technologies. Initiate or further develop the collaborative programme.
  • 15.06.2023 IRP voucher (read)
    The vouchers are available for pilot projects in which two or more research institutes initiate a new interdisciplinary research topic. The focus areas within the IRP are:
    - Green information technology

  • 19.06.2023 INTERREG Deutschland-Nederland (read)
    The most important criterium is to have a cross-border character, and that this character must reveal itself in a common development, a common implementation, a common effort, a common deployment of personnel and a common funding between the project partners on both sides of the border.

  • 20.06.2023 Summit grant (read). This Grant offers existing consortia to make that extra step towards exellence. The breakthrough should mark a significant shift, advance or insight in relation to existing ideas and methods,  conceptual frameworks, tools or technologies. Maximum budget: 40 million EUR, project length: 10 years. Deadline: 20 June 2023 (pre-proposal), 23 January 2024 (full proposal.

  • 11.07.2023 Full proposal: NWO Mosaic 2.0 (read
    Mosaic 2.0 is a PhD scholarship program aimed at the under-represented group of graduates with a migration background from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America and Turkey in the Netherlands. Mosaic 2.0 is a science-wide program; any research topic can be eligible.

    Prior submission of a pre-proposal (deadline 11 April 2023) is required to proceed at this stage. Budget per project: EUR 1,500,000 – 5,000,000 (50% funding rate).
  • 24.10.2023NWO Open Competition Domain Science – XS package 23-4 (read).
    The Open Competition Domain Science – XS grants of a maximum of € 50,000 are intended to support promising ideas and to facilitate innovative and more speculative initiatives within the seven Domain Science disciplines.
  • 25.10.2023  COSTA COST Action is an interdisciplinary research network that brings researchers and innovators together to investigate a topic of their choice for 4 years. Funded are travel costs and networking activities. COST Actions act as a pre-portal to other funding instruments. (read)

  • NWO Impact Explorer (read) Continuous application from 01.05.2023
    A small top-up, for ongoing research-projects in the open competition or talent line, to explore an unforeseen opportunity for impact. Researchers with a running project in one of NWO or ZonMw's open competitions or talent line programmes can submit.
  • NGF AiNed Fellowship Beurzen (read). 
    Aanvragen indienen tussen 5 september 2022 t/m 15 december 2023.
    Gericht op versterking van de kennisbasis van fundamenteel en toegepast AI-onderzoek en op het voldoen aan de grote vraag naar AI-talent. Dit talent draagt tevens bij aan het nationale AI‐ecosysteem.

  • NWO Kennisbenutting Plus (read)
    Kennisbenutting Plus stimuleert uitvoerders van NRO-projecten om de kennis, inzichten en resultaten uit hun projecten maximaal te laten benutten en verspreiden. Daarnaast heeft Kennisbenutting Plus tot doel gebruikers te betrekken bij het benutten van wetenschappelijk onderwijsonderzoek.
  • Kiem GoChem 2022-2023
    De regeling stimuleert het opzetten van nieuwe samenwerkingsverbanden van mkb-ondernemingen met kennisinstellingen. De samenwerkingsverbanden richten zich op het uitvoeren van verkennend onderzoek op het gebied van duurzame chemie en de missie Industrie. (read). Temporarily closed.

    Scientific position (M-1), scientific positions in collaboration (M-2) or investments (M-invest, 150,000-700,000 EUR) to realize curiosity-driven, fundamental research of high quality and/or scientific urgency. Continuous application.
  • NWO Scientific Meetings and Consultations Domain Science (read)
    Support for the organisation of scientific meetings as well as consultations for the formation of consortia. Continuous application.
  • NWO Computing Time on National Computer Facilities 2023 (read)
    Access to the national advanced computational facilities: HPC Cloud, Custom Cloud Solutions, Lisa computing cluster, Snellius supercomputer, and/or Data Processing (Grid/Spider).
  • NWO Open Access Books (read)
  • Project leaders or co-applicants of awarded NWO research projects can apply for max. 10,000 EUR for Open Access publishing of academic books that result from NWO funding. Continuous application.
  • NWO Cooperation Taiwan (MOST) Joint seminars (read).
    The Cooperation Taiwan (MOST) programme offers the opportunity of a joint seminar in Taiwan or the Netherlands. Continuous application.
  • NWO Cooperation Taiwan (MOST) – Scientist exchange (read).
    For a stay of one to twelve months in Taiwan, international travel costs and local travel and subsistence costs can be applied for. Continuous application.
  • NWO Cooperation China (NSFC) – Travel and subsistence costs (read) 
    Travel and subsistence costs is for Dutch researchers who want to cooperate with colleagues in China. It offers the opportunity of a short stay in China. Continuous application.
  • NWO Cooperation China (NSFC) – Joint seminars (read)
    For a seminar to be jointly organized in the Netherlands or China. Maximum amount per seminar is 15,000 EUR. Continuous application.
  • NWO Cooperation Germany – von Humboldt Stiftung (VHS) (read)
    Researchers (preferably professors) at Dutch institutions can nominate German candidates for a Von Humboldt Prize to NWO. Continuous application.
  • INTERREG Deutschland – Nederland (read)
    Interregional projects between Germany and the Netherlands with a cross-border character. Projects should focus on product and/or process innovations with SMEs or on energy and low carbon economy. Continuous application; applications have to be in German or Dutch.
