New staff member Nick Pouls
As of the 1st of April 2022, Nick Pouls has joined the staff of the Institute for Eastern Christian Studies, working as editor of the Platform Oosters Christendom (POC). Pouls studied medieval history and historical auxiliary sciences at the Radboud University Nijmegen and Utrecht University. During his studies, Pouls became interested in the differences between Latin and Greek manuscripts. At the University of Bergen in Norway, Pouls worked for several years as a lecturer in historical auxiliary sciences, such as palaeography, codicology, and diplomatic.
In the last four years, Pouls has written several articles for the journal Pokrof – Oosterse christenen, kerken en culturen, focusing on manuscripts and patriarchs Athenagoras, Irinej, and Porfirije. As editor of the Platform Oosters Christendom, he will continue to write and edit various articles on Orthodox Christianity.
