Platform Oosters Christendom

The Platform Oosters Christendom was established in 2022 as a continuation of the magazine Pokrof - Oriental Christians, Churches and Cultures. The Platform is a news service focused on the various aspects of the lives of Eastern and Oriental Christians, churches and cultures in the Netherlands and worldwide. The website is managed by the Institute of Eastern Christian Studies (IvOC) in Nijmegen and is currently available only in Dutch.

Various topics covered by the platform include news and developments in the world of Eastern Christianity, Orthodox culture, book reviews, reports on congresses and activities, opinion pieces and articles on society. In October 2023 the platform underwent a substantial upgrade and now features 5 subsections: portraits, background, culture, spirituality and the Netherlands.

The platform is run by the editor and an editorial team which selects and writes articles for publication. We invite you to visit the platform and read some of the interesting articles published.
