Natalia Skowronek: Covid-19 and Labour migration

Title Social sustainability of labour migration and food production in Europe after Covid-19
Description

This research seeks to analyse the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on the situation of labour migrants in food production in Germany and the Netherlands. In doing so, the study aspires to shed light on the systemic issues of labour migration within the EU. The study focusses specifically on food production as an essential sector and introduces the concept of ‘social sustainability’ into this discourse. It thereby hopes to present a transdisciplinary perspective that allows for a reflection on the broader meaning not only of the situation of labour migrants, but also the developments in the European food production after the arrival of the Covid-19 virus
