Private international law issues and the multicultural society
Title |
Private international law issues and the multicultural society |
Description | In the last decades the migration movements have caused major repercussions in the area of international family law. The research in the field of private international law focuses on the question if the judge is obliged to consider to what degree he will recognize family laws that are applicable to minorities of foreign origin but that clash with the domestic legal culture. The core question is whether these minorities have the obligation to integrate into the host society by adopting legal and cultural values of this society, or their national laws can be applied. |
