Description | This project is a study of Dutch/Egyptian and Dutch/Moroccan child custody and access disputes, sometimes involving allegations of parental child abduction, which assesses how families, NGOs, lawyers, bureaucrats and judges understand and attempt to resolve these disputes across two legal systems. Fieldwork for this project has been conducted in several sites in The Netherlands, Egypt and Morocco, where material has been gathered through interviewing, access to legal and diplomatic files and written material offered by parents (letters, journals etc.). |
