Gert van Rijssen appointed Professor by special appointment of Judiciary

Gert van Rijssen has been appointed Professor by special appointment of Judiciary at Radboud University‘s Faculty of Law with effect from 1 November 2018. His teaching and research remit at Radboud University is for one day a week.

Rijssen, Gert vanVan Rijssen studied Dutch law (civil) at the University of Groningen and in 2006 he obtained his PhD on transfer of contractual position. From 2001 - 2009 he worked as a judge in the Zwolle-Lelystad District Court (bankruptcy judge and commercial cases). Since 2009 he has worked as civilian counsellor at the Arnhem-Leeuwarden Court. In addition, he is a member of the Audit Chamber and an arbitrator on the Arbitration Board for Construction. He publishes regularly on legal issues.

At the Nijmegen Law Faculty Van Rijssen will develop and implement the Master's course in Administration of Justice and provide post-graduate education. In addition, he will focus on research into current social issues related to the judiciary, such as the constitutional position and modernisation of the law and developments in procedural law.
