PiCarta disappears definitively

Date of news: 30 October 2018

As from January 1st 2019 the supplier cancels the national catalogue Picarta. Since 2017 no new digital publications from Dutch universities have been added, so this database has not been up-to-date for a long time. The supplier announced that Picarta will still be available for a while until all University Libraries will be transferred to the new national systems. For the Radboud University and Radboudumc this is RUQuest.

For customers who are used to search Picarta, extra support will be offered to find their scientific literature via RUQuest. This goes especially for our Special Collections. These publications must be searched in a different way in RUQuest than in Picarta. The head of the manuscript department, Eefje Roodenburg, will soon organise again a number of workshops for this special group. Also for other people who want to learn how to search in RUQuest, compared to Picarta, workshops will be organised in the near future. More information about this will follow as soon as possible.

If these dates and times do not suit you, contact one of our liaison librarians. They will arrange an appointment to help you.

Do you have questions or do you want more information? You can go to all our locations on campus. Of course you can also use Ask Your Librarian.
