Regulations for books that are not for loan

Not all books in the collection of the University Library are for loan and requesting such a book via RUQuest does not work. However, in exceptional cases we can help you anyways. How does that work?

Handbooks, reference works and for instance the CIDOR-collection of the Law Library are not for loan. The same counts for printed journals. Usually, you can examine these documents at the library location accordingly. Due to the current circumstances, this is, unfortunately, not possible.

How can we help you?

If you have a very urgent request for a book that you cannot submit via RUQuest, please let us know via Ask Your Librarian. We let you personally know when the documents are available to you at the Central Library, Erasmuslaan 36.

At the Central Library, you may scan or make copies of the literature (both books and journals) for your study, research or personal use. The necessary hardware is at your disposal in situ.

The opening hours for the Central Library are from 8:30am to 3pm during workdays. Access to the building is granted on presentation of your valid campus card. The library is closed during weekends.

The porter is monitoring the amount of people accessing the Central Library and if all are carrying out the national instructions of the RIVM (Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment) regarding the distance of 1.5 meters to one another.

Our advice remains: please do not come to campus unless there is an urgent reason to do so. Stay as much as possible at home – for your own, but also other people’s good – and take care.
